Fear Won’t Do a Thing for You

Fearless living...

Watching an animated show last night that we have often watched, I was still amazed at how much you see each time you watch it. About a family of cavemen, it chronicles the changes they go through as they have to decide whether to go into the future or remain where they are. Their world was crumbling and even their cave had been destroyed. What would they do and how could they make it? They had never even slept outside at night. They had lived their entire life unsure, unable and unchanged.

I heard the father of the cavemen say these words, “Fear keeps us alive. Never not be afraid”.

Suddenly I heard the Lord speaking. That’s what fear does. It traps you in the past, it cements you in the known and then it keeps you from the future. I AM your future. You cannot grow if you will not take chances and move out of your comfort zone. I will go with you. I will go before you. Before the foundation of the world I knew where you needed to go to fulfill your calling in Christ. Fear will not keep you alive, it will kill you –  your future, your hopes, your dreams and your passions. I AM that I AM. I say never be afraid. You have nothing to gain by being fearful.  But as you learn to live fearlessly in Me, you will find new horizons and greater plans than you ever thought of on your own.  Your character will strengthen with every step that you step out in faith with Me.

Oh beloved, why are you so worried? Did you make mistakes in the past? We all do. Do you fear what you don’t even see yet? That’s shadow boxing with nothing.  Do you have a dream, but you are cautious and careful to the point that you don’t think you can do it? God gives dreams and visions to His own and you are His if you have given your heart to Christ. Maybe you want to grow in faith but you’re fearful you won’t please God or move forward. Fear does not remove the troubles that may come in the future; it just saps today of all its strength. God has called you to be fearless. He has commanded that you be strong and courageous. He encourages you not be terrified or discouraged. And why has He said this? Because the Lord Thy God is with you wherever you go! You don’t go alone. You don’t dream alone. You don’t create your own future. Caveman living is nowhere to be for a child of God. He has called you out of darkness into His marvelous light. His desire is that you say so long to fear and hello to your future!

God loves you and He’s for you so what is there to be afraid of? God is calling you to be bold—fearless in approaching Him, in stepping out in faith, and in trusting Him to lead you all the days of your life. Fear will pen you in but real freedom comes when you follow Him all of your days.

2 Timothy 1:7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. KJV

Psalm 112:8 They are confident and fearless and can face their foes triumphantly.

Deuteronomy 31:6 So be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid and do not panic before them. For the Lord your God will personally go ahead of you. He will neither fail you nor abandon you.

I Corinthians 16:3 Be on guard. Stand firm in the faith. Be courageous. Be strong.

Psalm 105:19 Until the time came to fulfill his dreams, the Lord tested Joseph’s character.

Luke 1:74 To grant us that we, being delivered from the hand of our foes, might serve Him fearlessly.

About rebekahbeene

In a Women’s meeting in 1983, I went up for prayer and to see if God had “anything for me”. The woman of God who was praying for people spoke over my life. She said these words: “You will write books. You can go to the bank on it. Rivers of living water will flow from your belly…”
