The booth we had was setup with candy and balloons in case some kids came by. Sure enough a little boy spied the candy and wanted some. Then he was asked if he wanted a balloon. He promptly put the candy back and went for the balloon. I told him, wait, he could have both. He was amazed. He stood there hovering with indecision. Finally he grabbed a piece of candy to go with his balloon. You could tell by his face that he found it nearly impossible to have both the candy and the balloon. Others came by and wondered what the balloon and candies might cost them. Free gifts we explained, just for the kids.
As I watched his predicament God spoke to my heart. With Me you can have everything. In my Word it is all laid out for you. Even salvation is provided free for you from Christ’s gift. You can have the gifts of the Spirit, the fruit of the Spirit and more. You can have both joy and peace. You can have all the strength you need and victory to go with it. I provide everything that a child of God could need. I have no desire that my children go away without their needs being met completely. My riches in glory provides it all.
Oh beloved, have you been struggling with the great free gifts you find in the Word of God? You wonder if you deserve them. Yes, you do – by virtue of Christ and His own gift – you can have everything a child of God could ever need. You may have been content with a little of the wondrous provision God speaks about in His Word. But today is your day to receive freely from the giftings and callings of God. They are spread out before you in His Word. Don’t hesitate. Don’t struggle. Everything you need is a provisional gift from the Lord Himself. Take all of it and remember that God generously gives because Christ generously provided the way. The gifts that God has spread out for you are gifts that you need to complete your life in Christ. They range from forgiveness and repentance all the way to clothing and food. You will be lacking in nothing when you receive the gifts of God’s loving heart. You may be content with salvation when you can have the gifts that will enable you to be more than a conqueror in this life. He provides generously, overflowing, completely. He withholds none of His goodness and giftings from any child of His. Reach out to God and ask Him about it. You are free to walk victorious, share the ministry of reconciliation and walk in freedom and liberty because of all His gifts
God loves you and He’s for you. You can enjoy His presence and gifts without hesitation for you are His child and He has provided it all!
