Looking through old pictures I found some of our kids when they were in the high school and college bands. In the local parades, marching along the street, they gave us great pride, both in the quality of the band themselves and in the talents God gave our children. They may have made some missteps and belted out a sour note or two but you wouldn’t know it by us. What we saw were our beautiful children, blessings from God Himself and we were honored to see them display their talents all down the main street. When the entire band won awards from the parade judges we were happy for our kids and all their friends.
There is one who wants to parade every mistake you’ve ever made up and down the street of your mind. He knows each mistake you’ve made and your heart quickly remembers and has pain at the dishonor of things you wish you had never done or said. Satan himself wants you to believe you can never get beyond those sour notes and missteps. He will arrogantly display everything into your mind again and again until you feel useless, worthless and bereft of all talent. He is also in the judge’s stand marking off points at every turn.
Oh beloved, if you keep listening to the lies of the enemy you can never hear the truth of the Father. Just as the band drowns out other sounds as it marches by, the enemy of your soul wants to drown out the Truth of God’s Word. It’s time to allow yourself to be forgiven. It’s also time to believe God. Just what does God see when He sees you?
God sees you, perfected in Christ and beloved in faith. The forgiveness you received that was wrought in Christ is complete. When you accepted Christ as your Lord and Savior the debt you owed was settled, paid in full. God sees you blessed, favored, honored, full of purpose, beautiful in His sight. Learn to rejoice in God’s Word and live in the light of all that God says. Every promise is God is truthful. Every thought He has about you is good and kind. Let Him teach you how to display your God given talents for His honor and glory.
He loves you and He’s for you forever and always. This is why you can hold your head high and walk with confidence all the days of your life as you live in the Light of His glory and grace.

I Peter 1:18-19 For you know that God paid a ransom to save you from the empty life you inherited from your ancestors. And the ransom He paid was not mere gold or silver, but with precious blood, as of a lamb unblemished and spotless, the blood of Christ.
