Stand Your Ground

The 90,000 acre tract along the Red River being eyed by the Federal Land Management Agency is an interesting story, especially for Texans. That’s a lot of land – 140 square miles to be exact. The Texas government has sounded the alarm and is stepping in to stop the transfer of ownership.

One of the problems with fighting the land procurement is that in 1986 a much smaller piece of land, only 140 acres, was determined to be public land. Even though the landowner tried to sue to keep his land he lost in court. I think it’s interesting that once 140 acres was taken, now 140 square miles is being eyed.  I am not interested in the political goings on, but I am interested in Texas. My family and Danny’s family on both sides are multi- generation Texans and we love the great state.

As I heard the story God spoke to my heart. The enemy of our soul wants to grab the land that we rightfully own. As born again believers we have territory that is secure – bought and paid for by the blood of the lamb. He does not attempt to take the entire territory right off. He tries on a much smaller scale at first, trying for little areas of our lives. When he has managed to get an inroad, he will not stop there. He wants it all. He is a taker, a cheater, a liar, a thief. He wants to kill, steal and destroy everything.

Oh beloved, God wants you to know who you are in Christ. He wants you completely filled with all spiritual knowledge, to have your title deed in hand. The Word of God contains the description of your inheritance. Without knowledge of what you truly own, the enemy can snatch it away from you. God will stand in for you when you are attacked from all sides. He is your Advocate who will stick with you all the days of your life.  You may feel abandoned and needy, but God says you are secure and have all your needs met. You may be worrying about things and cowering in fear over future decisions, but God says that you have no need to fear. His perfect love casts out all fear. You may think you have to roll over and play dead over things that look bad, but God says you can stand up against the onslaught of the enemy and as you wield the sword of the spirit – the Word of God – satan has to flee.  You may feel like a coward, but God has given you spiritual courage to face whatever comes your way. You may think you have to give up in prayer, but prayer is your lifeline and God hears each and every one of them.  Stand fast in the liberty with which Christ has set you free and don’t let the enemy take another inch, for beloved, he wants it all.

It does not matter what has happened in the past, today is a new day of wisdom, power and love with strength to overcome all the enemy tries to commit against you and strength to stand in all the Lord has given you.

Always remember, that God is greater than your problems, greater than your fears and greater than any enemy that comes to take what is rightfully yours. God loves you and He’s for you and He has taken care of everything you need for life and godliness. He promises that you will not just barely make it but you will have life – and that more abundantly! Rejoice in the truth, submit to God, resist the devil and he will flee. In Christ you are secure and have battle plans for stopping the encroachment of the enemy in your domain.

“Thank you, Lord, for who I am in Christ. I am blessed and highly favored by my Savior and Lord. I am sealed by the Holy Spirit and walk in blessings everywhere I go. Teach me more so that I don’t have to lose ground, but I can gain territory for your kingdom and wisdom for my life. All because of Jesus. Amen.”

Joshua 1:9 This is my command–be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.”

2 Peter 1:3 By His divine power, God has given us everything we need for living a godly life. We have received all of this by coming to know Him, the one who called us to Himself by means of His marvelous glory and excellence.

John 10:10 The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance (to the full, till it overflows). Amplified

Ephesians 6:13 Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. NIV

About rebekahbeene

In a Women’s meeting in 1983, I went up for prayer and to see if God had “anything for me”. The woman of God who was praying for people spoke over my life. She said these words: “You will write books. You can go to the bank on it. Rivers of living water will flow from your belly…”
